Victor Gonzalez Jr.

Victor "Handsome" Gonzalez Jr., infant son of Afton Frischmann and Victor Gonzalez entered this world on January 1, 2014, as the first baby born in Albuquerque in 2014. He was called to heaven on Friday, June 5, 2015 where he has taken his place as the guardian angel of his four surviving sisters; Veronica Lucero, Elizabeth Ramirez, Mya Gonzalez and Leanna Gonzalez, all of Albuquerque. During his seventeen months of life, he blessed everyone with his contagious smile and constant laughter. Our hearts are gladdened that through the successful donation of his organs, other families will also continue to be blessed with his shared joy and he will forever remain our "little hero". Victor Jr. is survived by his paternal grandparents Hector and Annabelle Gonzalez of Albuquerque; maternal grandparents William T. and Yvonne McCallum of Denver, Colorado; maternal grandparents Jeff and Jennifer Frischmann of Carson City, Nevada; paternal great-grandmothers Victoriana Gonzalez and Lola Torres of Albuquerque; maternal great-grandmother Mary Joanne Harris of Durango, Colorado, and many other relatives and friends who loved Victor Jr. very much. A viewing will be held at 6:00 p.m. followed by his Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2015 at St. Anne's Catholic Church located at 1400 Arenal Road SW, Albuquerque, NM. On Saturday, June 13, 2015 a viewing is scheduled from Noon-1:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. which will be at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Albuquerque with Deacon Nestor Garcia officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Park , 924 Menaul Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM. A “Celebration of Life” reception will follow the burial and be announced at the service. The family would like to express our gratitude to the staff at Presbyterian Hospital Pediatric ICU for the incredible care provided to Victor Jr. and the entire family, with a special thank you to his nurses; Tracy Garcia and Alexis Honda, his case worker, Pamela Duda, Dr. Cua, Dr. Koons, Dr. Miller, and Dr. Martinez. The family would also like to thank Michael C. Clay and Maryanne Daigle with New Mexico Donor Services for the ease and smooth transition provided in the transfer of Victor Jr’s “gifts of life”.
