Aline Rogers

Age 81, passed away on November 20, 2012. She was born and raised in Kimberly, ID on March 8, 1931 to Perriegrine and Martha Myrtle Freestone. Aline was the sixth of seven children. She excelled in school, student government, and sports. In 1949, she met the love of her life, Denzil Reed Rogers, in Salt Lake City, UT. Denzil and Aline were married July 19, 1950 in the LDS Idaho Falls Temple. She supported her husband and family through moves to Salt Lake City, UT; Freeport, IL; and has lived in Albuquerque for the past 56 years. Aline has faithfully served her family, church, and community. She served as a Stake Relief Society President; Primary chorister, Visiting Teacher, and loved working with the youth of the LDS church. Great friendships were formed through these opportunities to serve. Aline was known for her delicious sweet rolls, her love of music, her wonderful meals, and watching her family in sports. She had a love of the gospel of Jesus Christ and exemplified His teachings in her life. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Denzil Reed Rogers; her six children and their spouses, Aurelia Marek (Richard), Denzil Randy Rogers (Traci), Angelia Olson (Dallan), Doreen Griffeth (Robert), Ronan Reed Rogers (Andrea), and Thayer P. Rogers (Alison); 38 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Arlow Freestone of Monticello, UT; Inez Watson of Twin Falls, ID; Camilla Stout of Cumberland, MD; and Perrie Freestone of Twin Falls, ID. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ferris Freestone; and an infant sister, Rachel. We are so grateful for the wonderful care given to our wife and mother at the North Albuquerque Dialysis Center and encourage everyone to consider being an organ donor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the charity of your choice. This elect lady has been the best wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will live on through the lives of those striving to live by her teachings. Viewings will be held on Friday, November 23, 2012 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Eldorado Ward Building, 4109 Eubank Ave., Albuquerque, NM, 87111 and before the services on Saturday, November 24, 2012 from 9:00-10:45 a.m. again at the Eldorado Ward Building. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. following the viewing at the Eldorado Ward Building. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menual NE.
